POLICY & PRIVACY PRACTICES
Patient Rights Policy
It is the policy of Wisdom Matters, to maintain and protect the patient’s fundamental human, civil, constitutional, and statutory rights, in accordance with the Mental Healthcare Act 2017. We hope to create an open, secure, and non-restrictive treatment environment.
Each patient admitted to Wisdom Matters shall, subject to giving informed consent, receive treatment that is suited to the person’s needs, which shall be delivered skillfully, safely, and humanely with full respect for dignity and personal integrity.
Wisdom Matters is a unique treatment setting because of its emphasis on intensive individual psychoanalytic psychotherapy in a therapeutic community, and its fully open setting. Our orientation and philosophy are based on working collaboratively with individuals unless the psychiatric team claims that the participant lacks capacity.
During the Patient Care Program, a family and participant meeting is only approved by the chief medical officer/counsellor. Any outside food, medicines, or services such as laboratory investigations, tests, classes, courses, and conveyance involved shall be paid for by the family.
It is to be understood that absconding, wandering and suicidal tendencies, violent behaviour, suspiciousness, among others are signs and symptoms of mental illness. Criminal acts including suicide are subject to legal action and the organisation will not be held responsible.
Wisdom Matters undertakes training programs for young professionals to help them develop the necessary skills for working with individuals and families in distress. Photographs, Videos, and Audio took here may be used for training and promotional purposes.
Organisation Rights Policy
Fees once paid for any of the facilities or services, shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
At the time of admission, the patient and any family members who accompany the patient will be provided with a declaration of understanding; on which it clearly states that in case of physical ailment, sickness, contagious disease or any other medical condition Wisdom Matters holds all rights to conduct required tests, transfer the patient to a hospital, give them any immediate medical or surgical treatment if deemed necessary by the institution, or send the patient home. There could be unfortunate incidences such as accidents of any kind, fractures due to falling or while playing games, any type of illness to the extent of natural death. In such cases, the sole responsibility of looking after, hospitalisation, payment of medical bills, etc shall be the patients/family members and Wisdom Matters will not be held responsible for the same.
Patients are required to follow all the general rules and regulations of the centre and in particular refrain from violence against self or others, destruction of property, use of drugs other than prescribed medications and engaging in sexual activities while under the care of, and at the centre.
If the institution feels that the presence of the patient is undesirable or they or their family are not following the rules and regulations, we hold the right to send back a participant or refuse admission. The admission and discharge rights are reserved with the management.
